EQUALITY ON CAMPUS! BE THERE!

EQUALITY!

On January 27th, 2009 high school and college students across the country will
be wearing the same shirt to school as a way to show unity within a community in
the fight for LGBT equality, particularly marriage equality. This protest, entitled
"Equality On Campus Day" is occurring a week after Obama is inaugurated to remind
him of his promises to repeal both the Defense of Marriage Act and the "Don't Ask,
Don't Tell" policy in today's United States military.

At 2:00 PM EST Virginia Commonwealth University students, gay and straight, will be gathering
on the compass right outside of Shafer Dining Court to protest against Prop 8 and marriage inequality.
We need as many people as possible. If you don't have the money for a T-Shirt, make your own!
And bring posters!!

To buy your t-shirt today, check out this website: http://www.cafepress.com/studentsforequa
(the regular t-shirt is only $10...not bad). All of the proceeds will be going to Lambda Legal,
an organization in California that is currently trying to battle to repeal Prop 8. View more
of their landmark cases for LGBT equality here:
